A long-time friend of my father’s runs a fantastic non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth and disabled adults. They are really doing work to help individuals, families, communities and the entire nation, frankly. He is a very smart guy and loves to learn, which I relate to and greatly appreciate. The other day he was speaking to a group and shared that he loves the Thesaurus option on word because sometimes there are more, better, different ways to say something and often the slight shift brings about a better final ‘product.’ So, this morning I decided to write this upcoming newsletter blast on a subject…decided to use the Thesaurus option and guess what? There was no synonym. What??!! Not One! When there was not one I decided that this had real meaning for us and would write on this subject of…
Wellness! That’s crazy. That means it is one of a kind. Look, I realize that maybe Microsoft Word was having an off day, or that if I googled it, or looked it up on-line somewhere they would have something. But it struck me as significant.
If there is no other word that means it’s unique and we really need to pay attention to it, because there is nothing else like it. And we know that our wellness is what we hope to create on this journey of life, sooner than later. To be able to get more of it when we feel we are lacking it, we have to get more wellness above anything else…whatever that means to us as individuals.
So, I just want to encourage you to think of your wellness as a one-of-a-kind companion on your physical, emotional, social and spiritual expedition.
Much love!
Dave
