The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) says that almost 60% of new manages say they never received any training when they transitioned into their first leadership role. Here are some of the reasons why organizations are still doing this incorrectly:
They are making too much money to stop and care
They are making too much money and have other priorities
They have other priorities
There is no history of it being done so why bother
“Don’t rock the boat and ask for something right when you start”
Resources: Money and Time or Both
No one designated to set up new-hire training
Someone who did it before for the organization retired
There is not enough risk or ‘pain’
They figure they hire smart people who can figure it out
What other reasons do you think organizations don’t train new managers?
