There are about 5.58 Billion responses when you put “Thanksgiving” into a search engine. That said, this holiday is personally defined with feelings of all kinds depending on your past experiences and current situation. You could say these feelings are one in a billion because they are in your vessel and no one else’s.
However you celebrate this upcoming national event (and even if you don’t) I wanted to offer some behaviors that might help make the day(s) even more special. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Let the youngers take some photos of people just ‘hanging out’
Invite someone you didn’t have last year to the meal
Do something you might not normally do (wash some dishes!) – imagine the look on their faces
Teach someone how to carve the turkey that has never done it
Ask someone their opinion about something non-controversial (don’t get people riled up for fun)
Get a head start on a new year’s resolution
Work off some of the extra food we consume with a little longer walk (or a walk at all)
Play Pickle Ball…fastest growing sport in America and it’s fun with the whole family
Spread love however, whenever possible and do it from a place of compassion
Look all around for opportunities to find joy and moments of happiness.
I sincerely hope this can be a good time of year for you whether you are with a group or by yourself.
Either way, much love!
Dave
