Kick Off

Halloween seems like the ‘kick-off’ to the holiday season. Let’s practice and model living in the moment, enjoying the rest of 2021 to the best of our abilities. So much to think about, commitments pulling us (and maybe kids) in various directions. Some care about the holidays and others do not. Some live for them as the best part of the year and some will suffer emotions related to loss. Whatever your story is, here are 15 things to keep in mind to help you stay in a good frame of mind.

Make time to meditate (even if for only 5 minutes)

Consider everything you are grateful for

Live in the present moment and enjoy what that moment is offering you

Expand your definition of happiness so that you are happy more often

Don’t let other people’s “monkeys” be a burden on your back

Do not let the ego get in the way of you remembering how special you are

Appreciate your vision and eyes, you will love so much of what you see

Go out of your way to do things you might not normally do, break some patterns

Remember to cut sugar as much as possible, it is responsible for a lot of bad health stuff

Forgive someone you thought you couldn’t (it will do wonders for your own mental health)

Ask for help if you need it

Offer help to someone you know needs it

Get enough sleep (you will not miss anything that great, go to bed, lol)

Don’t get an animal for a present unless you are willing to sacrifice time, money, resources for a decade or more

Be hungry and humble

No matter how much we try to push it away or if it makes us feel uncomfortable to think about…love really is the basis for so much. Extend compassion, reduce judgement, forgive yourself!

Have a great Halloween!

Boo!

Much love,

Dave
