Sometimes when I am finishing a call where I am getting help from a customer service representative, I look to ask one of my finale questions before hanging up. Do you have anything you like to ask towards or at the end of conversation like this? Anything you like to ask a colleague or family member when finishing an information sharing/helping session? If you are interested in a few powerful questions that help to make sure everything has been covered and there will be no surprises later.
Sometimes when I am finishing a call where I am getting help from a customer service representative, I look to ask one of my finale questions before hanging up. These are easy to ask and can often yield some great, actionable information. Here are the ones I use to help me ensure there are no surprises later.
Is there anything you need me to know?
Is there anything you want me to know? (Remember, Wants and Needs are totally different!)
If this was your (situation, home, car, etc) what would you do?
Is there anything that you think I would want to know?
Is there anything else, before we hang up, that you want me to know?
Do we have closure?
These can be powerful questions and surface new information right before ending. Or, it might be the reminder of information that was stated earlier during the exchange that resurfaces. Either way, be more cognizant and willing to ask these open-ended questions so that the person we are listing to can fill in the blanks with their stuff, untainted by specific questions to late in the game. Obviously, you can ask specific questions as follow up to whatever they give you. The key is to extract as much information as possible before the exchange is over but in a small amount of time.
Wishing you all the best and much love!
Dave
