“AI Says What?!”

When I asked an AI program which 20 industries would be impacted significantly first, the answer seemed all encompassing. In 2019 I had started a radio program that was gaining some traction, “Preparing for Robots” where I predicted all of this and started interviewing people from different sectors and industries. Results were astonishing, only to be out done by how unprepared we, as humans, are to have our jobs influenced or taken. I know, I know…most people don’t want to talk about it and that’s what happened when Covid happened. (The reports of mass layoffs by companies, in the thousands, is the canary in the coal mine.)

Life and the conversation shut down but AI did not…it kept on progressing. Now consider the speed of things…they went from Chat GPT to Chat GPT 4 in like 2 months. So, we still need to think about our job and what we are going to do if, sorry when, our industry gets impacted. Might we want to re-invent ourselves or take a class or look to get a promotion now…probably a good idea to consider since we have about three more years until it is in our face daily, 2025. Then massive changes influence all aspects of society by 2027. Then by 2030, which is around the corner, 400-800 million global jobs gone. Scary stuff for many if it is considered.

Here is what the AI program had to say about what industry jobs will be impacted first.

We must additionally consider all of the branches and sequels of the quick answers. Those extensions of understanding the problem are humans and human jobs. This list touches most people that I know or have known.

Question: What will be the first 20 industries majorly impacted by AI?

  1. Healthcare: AI can be used to analyze medical data, diagnose diseases, and develop treatment plans.

  2. Finance: AI can be used to predict market trends, automate investment decisions, and improve fraud detection.

  3. Manufacturing: AI can be used to optimize production processes, detect defects, and improve quality control.

  4. Retail: AI can be used to improve supply chain management, personalize customer experiences, and optimize pricing strategies.

  5. Transportation: AI can be used to optimize logistics and route planning, improve safety and reduce accidents.

  6. Education: AI can be used to personalize learning experiences, provide real-time feedback to teachers, and detect learning difficulties early on.

  7. Energy: AI can be used to optimize energy generation and distribution, improve safety and reduce environmental impact.

  8. Agriculture: AI can be used to optimize crop management, detect pests and diseases early on, and improve yields.

  9. Construction: AI can be used to optimize project management, improve safety, and reduce construction time and costs.

  10. Insurance: AI can be used to improve risk assessment, automate claims processing, and detect fraud.

  11. Legal: AI can be used to improve document analysis, automate contract review, and enhance legal research.

  12. Advertising: AI can be used to improve ad targeting and personalization, optimize ad spend, and improve ROI.

  13. Hospitality: AI can be used to personalize guest experiences, automate check-in and check-out, and optimize hotel operations.

  14. Real estate: AI can be used to improve property valuation, automate property management, and personalize property recommendations.

  15. Sports: AI can be used to optimize training programs, analyze game footage, and improve sports analytics.

  16. Media: AI can be used to personalize content recommendations, automate content production, and improve content distribution.

  17. Government: AI can be used to improve citizen services, automate administrative tasks, and improve law enforcement.

  18. Gaming: AI can be used to improve game design, optimize game mechanics, and enhance player experiences.

  19. Telecom: AI can be used to optimize network management, improve customer service, and detect fraud.

  20. Non-profits: AI can be used to improve donor targeting and fundraising, automate administrative tasks, and improve program delivery.

I used to have an instructor who would say, in the best accent, “That’s no bullshit.”

This is the real deal and hopefully, if you read this far, you see it as a signal flare to what you already know. The key to staying positive will be to figure this out for ourselves, this is just a little encouragement to ask some questions.

All my best and much love!

Dave
